Good Morning Vietnam!

Ho Chi Minh City, our first Asian trip after our Euro stint, was a heady mix of fresh herbs, earthy (and sweet) coffee, complemented (not) with the ever present sound of motor cycles (scooters really). Of course the food was tops. We really enjoyed the phos, the variety of street foods, cafe sua (slow drip coffee with condensed milk!) but the com niue (rice baked in a clay pot and thrown around in this particular restaurant) was a disappointment. Walking to the different historical sights around the city was a nice way to burn off the calories. Just be careful when crossing the street, which was a challenge even for us Manilenos. Also be careful when taking taxis!Learning the history behind the sights and the country was interesting as well, you know (inside joke). We also did a day trip to the Mekong River which was a nice contrast to hectic Saigon. Tam Viet!

Wedding Season

It seems to be a good year for weddings. Congrats to Jon & Therese as well as Mae & Ruslan. I think we have 4 more weddings to go to this year! Keep the free food and booze coming :-)

Happy New Year

Just a few pics from outside our apartment window :-) Never mind the pics of the matching kilts that Rori & Ronnie wore - trying to relive last New Year's eve party in Edinburgh, where we were rained out... Rori was barely a noticeable bump back then. Aside from his first hols, Rori has also now successfully eaten his first batch of solid foods. Bananas and pears seem to be the current favorites. xoxo. Cheers.
